Cross Timbers Equestrian Trails Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization
was formed in January 1993 for the purpose of developing and maintaining
equestrian trails and to promote trail safety and responsible trail use
through membership and volunteerism.
CTETA provides these
volunteer services to over 25 miles of trails in Denton County, North
Texas. We serve under the guidelines of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
at the following locations:
- Pilot Knoll Park at Lewisville Lake
- Rocky Point Nature Trail
- Cross Timbers Trail
- Walnut Grove Trails (designated a National Recreational Trail) on Grapevine Lake.
CTETA’s bi-monthly
newsletter includes articles about local trail issues, trail maintenance
days, trail rides and events, and features a free bulletin board to its
members.
The club
has over 100 individual and family memberships and has logged hundreds
of volunteer hours for trail maintenance and patrol.
Purpose:
To develop and maintain equestrian trails and to promote
trail safety and responsible trail use through membership, education,
and volunteerism.
Trail Stewardship:
In cooperation with and under the guidelines of the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers and area municipalities. Pilot Knoll Park at Lewisville Lake; Rocky Point Park, Cross
Timbers Trail, and Walnut Grove Trails at Grapevine Lake.
Volunteer
Patrol: In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
to function as a courtesy service on designated equestrian/hiking trails.
Quarterly
Newsletter: Published in January, April, July and October.
Bulletin
Board: Five lines free to members. Ads must be received by the
first day of each month of publication.
Activities:
Monthly trail rides, volunteer trail maintenance and patrol, quarterly
Board meetings, annual educational meeting, and annual volunteer appreciation
BBQ.
Membership:
Annual dues: $25 Single; $35 Family; $50 Business - business card ad included
in newsletter.
